INDEPENDENCE COUNTY LIBRARY LAUNCHES SUMMER 2024  

(Batesville, AR) Get ready to embark on a literary adventure as the Independence County Library hosts its Registration Celebration on Saturday, June 8, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the library's patio. This event marks the official kickoff for Summer 2024 and promises an afternoon filled with food, fun, and fantastic prizes. Attendees will have the opportunity to enjoy fresh grilled hotdogs, generously provided by First Community Bank, and the library will offer an array of chips and refreshing drinks, ensuring that guests are well-fed and hydrated throughout the celebration. 

Join us as we dive into the excitement of Summer 2024! Families are encouraged to bring their children, tweens, and teens to register for the Summer Reading Program. This year's theme, "The Adventure Begins," sets the stage for an unforgettable journey through the pages of captivating stories and thrilling adventures. "We're thrilled to kick off Summer 2024 with our Registration Celebration," said Carlene Morrison, Director of the Independence County Library. "This yearly event is a fun opportunity for families to come together, enjoy lunch, and sign up for our Summer Reading Program.” Don't miss out on the excitement! Summer Celebration is back with a pop! It's Poppin' is a celebration of pop art, pop music, and all things pop culture. Guests will enjoy dinner, drinks, and live music followed by a pop music dance party with a live DJ. Highlights of the night will include a pop-up art studio where guests can make their own pop art, photo ops with iconic pop art imagery to commemorate the night, and BAAC's signature silent auction featuring unique art pieces from local artists. Throw on a pop of color or pop your collar and join us for a night of creativity, entertainment, and philanthropy!

Proceeds from Summer Celebration will support BAAC's mission to provide educational programs, art exhibitions, workshops, and community art projects for Batesville and the surrounding areas. BAAC recently launched a capital campaign to expand its workshop space to meet growing demand for arts programming. A portion of the funds raised at Summer Celebration will go to support this important project for our community.

Tickets are $60 or $50 for BAAC members, and are available at the BAAC Gallery on Main (226 E Main St), and online at batesvilleareaartscouncil.org.
